Sophie Axner Obituary (1924 - 2018) - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Sophie Axner passed away December 13 at the age of 94. Preceded in death by parents, Norma and Samuel Lerner; sisters and brother, Betty, Minnie, Sarah and Mandel; and daughter-in-law, Karen Levin. She will be missed by her children, Howard Axner, Marya Axner (Mark Niedergang) and Sybil Axner (Vincent Wyckoff); grandchildren, Joshua Axner (Ira), Michael Levin (Clara Velasquez Levin), Anna Levin (Joe Gorga), Rae Axner, Samuel Engel (Alisha) and Trevor Axner (Rebecca); great-grandchildren, Oliver, Niko, Robbie, Ocean, Eman, August, Ellis, Kyra and Zoey. Services will be held 2:00pm, SUNDAY, Dec 16 at SHIR TIKVAH CONGREGATION, 1360 W. Minnehaha Pkwy, Mpls. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to JCC’s Camp Butwin or New England Jewish Labor Committee. SHIVA will follow Sunday evening to share stories, love and food at Sybil and Vince’s, 5:30 pm and again on Monday, Dec 17 at 7:00 pm, 4424 30th Ave S, Mpls.
