Sofya Chernyakova Obituary (1931 - 2023)

Sofya Chernyakova, age 91, of St. Louis Park, passed away on September 15, 2023. She was born in Glukhov, Ukraine, on October 28, 1931, which was the former USSR. She and her family lived in Shostka until their emigration to the United States. She was a talented engineer, and she managed the films’ color setting department at Industrial Union, “SVEMA”. She and her family lived in Minnesota since their emigration to the United States. She was always an optimistic person who enjoyed life very much; she was also a very sociable person and ready to help everybody. She continually learned new things and read books until she passed. She was beloved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Sofya is preceded in death by parents, Isaac and Fenya Davydov and brother, Semen Davidov. Sofya is survived by her husband, Grigoriy; her two sons, Igor and Uri; her granddaughter, Julia; nephew, Vladimir Davydov; and daughter-in-law, Elena. Graveside service 2:00 pm WEDNESDAY, September 20th at Adath Chesed Shel Emes Cemetery, 3740 Winnetka Ave. N., Crystal.
