Sherwood M. Shapiro Obituary (1929 - 2021) - Saint Louis Park, Minnesota

Sherwood M. Shapiro, AG3 USN, age 91 of St. Louis Park, MN, passed away on July 8, 2021. Born and raised in St. Paul, MN and the eldest of two children. Sherwood graduated from Humboldt High School in 1947, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952. After enlistment, he attended the University of Minnesota for two years where he met his wife, Evelyn. Sherwood was a man of honesty, integrity and love for family and friends. Preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, parents Barney Shapiro and Sadie Wainstolk, and brother Harold Shapiro. Survived by children Susan Shapiro (Ted Bezat), Michael Shapiro (Naomi) and Elizabeth Swanson (Jeff); and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Private family burial service. Memorial service 1:00 pm WEDNESDAY at BET SHALOM CONGREGATION, 13613 Orchard Rd. Minnetonka.(service is also available on zoom). Zoom Shiva 7:00 pm Wednesday.
