Ruthann Schneider Obituary (1946 - 2024)

Ruthann Schneider, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed peacefully on Sept. 25, 2024, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Ruthann was born in Racine, Wisconsin, on June 25, 1946, to Jean and Harry Laufman. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she met her husband and lifelong traveling companion, Michael Schneider. Following graduation the couple moved to Minneapolis where Ruthann taught elementary grades in the Minneapolis public school system. Over the next 30 years their joint passion for travel and adventure took them to 107 countries around the world, including locales such as Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Nepal, Bhutan, Kenya, Mongolia, and Turkey. Ruthann is survived by her spouse, Michael; two children, Benjamin and Rebecca; two grandchildren, Liam and Sena; and brother, Mark. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, SUNDAY, September 29, 2024, at ADATH YESHURUN CEMETERY CHAPEL, 5605 France Ave. S., Edina. Shiva and a light lunch will follow in the Performance Room of ParkShore Senior Residence, 3663 Park Center Blvd., St. Louis Park, MN.
