Rosalie "Doll" Laboe Obituary (1938 - 2011)

Rosalie “Doll” Laboe, of Minnetonka, MN age 73 passed away Saturday, October 8. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. She was preceded in death by parents, Benn & Ida Friedman, brother Malcom Friedman; in-laws Bill & Betty Labovitch, and brother -in-law Morris Lebow. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Jack; daughters Gail Linsk, Vicki Siskin (Michael); son Michael Katzovitz (Stacy); grandchildren, Joshua Linsk, Isabella Siskin, Benjamin and Rachel Katzovitz; stepchildren, Mark Laboe (Cheryl), Steven Laboe, Scott Laboe; step grandchildren, Jeffrey Laboe, Matthew Mason, Carrie Reynoso, Rebecca Laboe, Russell Laboe; great grandchild Tyler Mason; siblings Barry Friedman (Barbara), Susan Nohelty (Jim), Debbie Iwanczuk (Mario); brother -in-law Charles Laboe (Tina). Doll was born in Baltimore, MD and her home later became Minneapolis. Doll was an artist at heart who mastered many media including painting, sculpting, acting, and singing. She was best known for her artistic creations in wedding and novelty cakes. She developed her skills at the Lincoln Del and became co-owner of Rainbow’s End. Later at age 60, when most people would be contemplating retirement, she opened her own bakery, “It takes the Cake,” with her husband Jack. Her pride was creating edible works of art. What was most important to her was her loving family and she made life sweet for all who knew her. Much appreciation to the staff at the N.C. Little Hospice for their professional & compassionate care. Funeral service TUESDAY, 11:00 AM, BET SHALOM CONGREGATION, 13613 Orchard Road, Minnetonka.
