Preston Joel Miller Obituary (1944 - 2017)

Preston Joel Miller, age 73 of Minnetonka died peacefully December 25th, 2017. Preston is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Faye Miller. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy; sons, Eric (Cheryl) and Brett (Jeanne); brother, Alan Miller; grandchildren, Madeline, Dason, Owen and Emma Jane; Aunt, Joanne Blindman and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and childhood friends. Preston joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis as a graduate student in economics and rose to become Vice President and Advisor to the President for economic policy. He also spent several years in Washington, D.C. at the Senate Budget Committee and Congressional Budget Office as an economic advisor. He was known for his wit, critical thinking and love for his best pal, Thumbs. The family would like to thank Dr. Igor Frank and Dr. J. Fernando Quevedo of the Mayo Clinic who guided Preston’s cancer treatment over a 13 year period. Memorial service 1:00 p.m. THURSDAY, December 28th at TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2323 Fremont Ave S., Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Mayo Medical Foundation, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund or donor’s favorite charity.
