Phyllis Kessler Obituary (2008)

Kessler (Gershgol), Phyllis, age 72, of Las Vegas passed away April 22, 2008. She was born in Duluth, MN on Jan. 6, 1936 to David & Ruth Gershgol of Gershgol Family Markets. Survived by husband, Morris (Moishe) Klevansky; sons, Irvin (Rob) Kessler & wife, Barb, and Rick Kessler; brothers, Gerald Gershgol, Stanley (Ricki) Gershgol; grandchildren, Brett, Bari, and Ben Kessler; special “baby”, Shaina, and many loving family & friends. Phyllis was an avid bridge player and was a Life Master. She played on the Israeli National Team while she lived in Israel for several years. She was also an excellent poker player, and won the Binyans World Series of Poker Women’s Championship in 1993. Special thanks to Phyllis’ caregivers both in Minneapolis & Las Vegas. Funeral service THURSDAY (TODAY) 3 PM, BET SHALOM CONGREGATION, 13613 Orchard Rd., Minnetonka. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Isaac and Rose Gershgol Scholarship Fund, University of Minnesota - Duluth, 315 Darland Administration Building, 1049 University Drive, Duluth, MN 55812.
