Philip David Garen Obituary (1927 - 2017)

Philip Garen, age 89, of St. Louis Park, passed away January 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zalmen and Chenya Garen. Survived by sons, Zachary Kiva Garen (Linnea Ostroff), Adam Garen (Alison Brueggemann), Geoffrey Garen (Beth Dakin), and Justin Garen. Philip was born in Slawatycze, Poland and was a Holocaust survivor. Graveside service 3:15pm MONDAY at GEMELUS CHESED CEMETERY, 7032 Penn Ave S, 55423. Memorials preferred to International Rescue Committee, help.rescue.org/donate or Sholom Foundation, where he found peace. SHIVA will be observed at the home of Rabbi & Mrs. Kalatsky, 4220 Sunset Blvd, Monday night 7:30 pm to 10 pm., Tuesday 10am to 12pm, 2pm to 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm to 10 pm.
