Pearl Reifel Obituary (2007) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota

Pearl Reifel Age 100, of St. Louis Park, died peacefully on October 13, 2007 after a brief illness. Pearl was born on November 25, 1906 in Odessa, Russia and immigrated to the Twin Cities with her family at the age of five. Pearl fell in love with Leo Reifel and they married. They made their home in North Minneapolis, later moving to St. Louis Park and then retiring to Florida. Pearl and Leo were married for 66 years. Pearl loved her ever-growing family and enjoyed bringing them all together. Her home was always the focal point of large family gatherings featuring her marvelous cooking and renowned baking. Pearl had a very spiritual life and was active in the Jewish community especially Beth El Synagogue and was a founding member of B’nai Emet Synagogue and later in life a member of Temple Israel. She worked hard to help her husband establish and build Standard Plumbing in St. Louis Park. She was a role model for every generation of her family for her courage and determination, active mind and profound love. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Jenny and Sam Tuberman, her husband, Leo J. Reifel, her 5 siblings, her daughter, Arleine (Winky) Herman, sons in law, David Clarren and Julius Klein and grandson, Peter Morgenstern-Clarren. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law Lila Reifel Clarren Grossman, Phil Grossman, and Charlotte Reifel Klein; 19 grandchildren and spouses; 16 great grandchildren and spouses; 1 great, great grandchild and loving nieces and nephews. The family wishes to especially thank the staff and care givers at Roitenberg Assisted Living and Pearl’s dear friend and caregiver, Netti Marabel. Funeral services to be held TUESDAY 1:30 PM at TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2324 Emerson Ave. S., Minneapolis. SHIVA will be observed Tuesday evening at Roitenberg Assisted Living, 3610 Phillips Pkwy., St. Louis Park at 6:30 PM. The family requests that contributions in Pearl’s memory be sent to the Sholom Alliance or Temple Israel Mitzvah Core.
