Norene Gayle Karon

Norene Gayle Karon, age 91, of St. Paul, passed away November 2, 2023. She was a loving wife, mother, and Nana to grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everett Karon; her parents, George and Sadie Silver; sister, Pearl (David Ruskin); and daughter-in-law, Catherine Odette. She is survived by her son, Barry (Beth); daughters, Sara and Nancy (Walter Novillo); grandchildren, David, Benjamin, and Jennifer Karon; Michelle (Josh Kass), and Danielle (Jordan Kravitz); great-grandchildren, Daniel and Dylan Karon, and Myles and Jillian Kass; as well as other family and many close friends. Norene received Bachelor's degrees from the University of Minnesota in Speech Pathology and Psychology. She worked for some years as a speech therapist, primarily with school children. She later became a manufacturers’ representative for high-end cookware and housewares. She was a groundbreaker for women in that field. Her intelligence and can-do attitude impressed men in the field and opened the doors for other women. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm SUNDAY, November 5th, at Temple of Aaron Synagogue, 616 S. SHIVA 7:00 pm Sunday and Monday evenings at 1830 Eagle Ridge Drive, Mendota Heights, in the Community Room. Memorials preferred to Sholom Home East, Temple of Aaron, or to the donor’s favorite charity.
