Nathan Harvey "Nick" Camm Obituary (1915 - 2012)

Nathan Harvey "Nick" Camm, age 96, of St. Louis Park, preceded in death by wife, Blanche Ann, and daughter, Lynda Marcia Anderson. Survived by daughters Barbara Leslie Camm (Bill Breer) and Roberta Helene "Robby" Anderson; sons-in-law, Michael K. Anderson and Dave Anderson grandson Jeffrey David; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Nick was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Ohio State University as a Doctor of Optometry. He practiced in Green Bay and Eau Claire Wisconsin, and Austin, Minnesota. He was a pioneer in incorporating child development, visual training, and the fitting of corneal contact lenses into his practice. In Austin he became a pillar in the community, holding offices in Rotary, The Civic Music Organization, Toastmasters, and B’nai B’rith and presiding over seders for diverse religious groups to share information about the Jewish religion. Nick and Blanche moved to Plymouth, Minnesota, in 1970. He worked for Group Health and Pearle Vision before his retirement at age 75. Nick will always be remembered for his outgoing nature, his humor and wit, and his loving kindness and sensitivity for others. The family wishes to thank Doris, Carol, Phloh, and Phoebe, his loving and special caregivers, for enhancing the last year of his life.
