Meyer "Mike" Rubin Obituary (1918 - 2012) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota

Meyer “Mike” L. Rubin, age 94 of St. Louis Park MN, previously of Boynton Beach FL, Delray Beach FL, and Norwalk CT, passed away 10/18/12. Preceded in death by parents, Celia and Max Rubin, brother Aaron, and sisters Anne and Shirley. Survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Sylvia "Skippy" Rubin; sons Ron (Harriet) of Seattle WA and Russ (Karen) of Edina MN; his very special granddaughters, Amanda and Sara; and sister, Ruth. Mike will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who possessed truly special gifts. A product of the Depression and World War ll, Mike was a self-made man. He built the family’s first home by himself, taking over 2 years to complete it. He taught himself residential architecture, to play virtually any instrument and to draw and paint. Funeral service FRIDAY 12 noon at BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5224 W. 26th St., St. Louis Park In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the Karen Rubin Hag Sameach Fund at Jewish Family and Children’s Service, 13100 Wayzata Blvd., Minnetonka MN 55305. The family will gather Saturday 7PM at Knollwood Place, and SHIVA will be Sunday 7 PM at Knollwood Place, 3630 Phillips Parkway, St. Louis Park.
