Maxwell Michael Barr Obituary (1918 - 2010)

Dr. Maxwell M.Barr, age 91 of Mpls passed away July 29, 2010. Dr. Barr was an Obstetrician/Gynecologist delivering over 4,000 babies during his career. He was Medical Director of Hennepin County Cancer Society, Chief of Staff at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Captain in the Medical Corp during WW II, member of the Edina Chapter of the Ducks Unlimited, and was active in numerous community, medical and social organizations. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years Ethel Ring Barr; son Ronald J. Barr (Ulla); daughter Candy Barr Karas (Stephen); grandchildren Anna and Jessica Barr, Sarah Barr Bert (Benjamin), Nicole and Jason Karas; brothers-in-law and best friends, Martin Ring (Sue) and Harold F. Ring; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his caregivers Gayle, Marcee, and Eileen and the caring staffs at Sholom Home West and Roitenberg Residence. Funeral service MONDAY, 2 PM, BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5224 W. 26th St., St. Louis Park. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Sholom Community Alliance, Beth El Syn.or the donor's favorite charity. SHIVA 7 PM Monday at Beth El Syn.
