Marilynn (Gershman) Valene Obituary (1948 - 2022)

Marilynn (Gershman) Valene, age 73 of Scottsdale, AZ., passed away February 18, 2022 surrounded by family. Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Susan Gershman and brother, Neil. Survived by children, Brandon (Christy) Valene, Courtney (Ari) Low; grandchildren, Ethan, Alexandra and Chase Low; siblings, Bruce (Karen) Gershman, Nancy (Tomas) Santiago, Debra (David) Chernoff and Sandi Collins. Marilynn grew up in Grand Forks, ND. She attended Stephens College and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Marilynn had the most infectious laugh. She loved music, singing, and would dance the night away. She was stylish and had an exceptional eye for art. Her vibrant presence and extraordinary beauty always lit up a room. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Marilynn loved people and had an incredible zest for life. We lost her way too soon. Funeral service 1:00pm FRIDAY FEBRUARY 25th at HODROFF-EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 126 East Franklin Ave., Minneapolis. Masks are required. The funeral will also be available via zoom.
