Lynda Hyatt Boswortth

–

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Lynda Hyatt Bosworth passed away last June, surrounded by friends in Tucson, Arizona. She was born to Max and Rosella Hyatt in Saint Paul, Minnesota and grew up in a loving home that she shared with her sister Bonnie.

Throughout her years, Lynda lived a life of adventure. Upon graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Social Work, rather than starting a job, she took a year off to hitchhike through Europe. Thus began a life-long love of travel that brought her to Asia, Europe, South America and more.

In 1973 Lynda met Tom Bosworth and they married in 1977. Together, they shared a love of travel, snow skiing, scuba diving, attending the Indy 500, and watching Indy car racing at home.

In 2009, Lynda suffered a life-changing accident while off roading with Tom in the high desert of New Mexico. Near death from dehydration, Lynda and Tom made it out alive, and Lynda, in true fashion, fought hard to regain her independence. Despite her lingering physical challenges, she remained positive calling herself “the luckiest girl in the world.”
Perhaps what Lynda was best known for was her kindness and loyalty to those closest to her, no doubt the influence of her amazing parents. As her friend Jana describes it, “When you were one of hers, she scooped you up. She carried her people deeply. She ached with us, celebrated with us, wanted to know what was on our plates and in our lives and on our minds and agendas. Lynda was so good at being a friend.”

Lynda is survived by her husband, Tom Bosworth of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Bonnie Resig (Sanford) of Minnetonka, Minnesota; niece, Jennifer Berman; stepson, Tom Bosworth (Briana); grandchildren, Jacob Hebron and Andrew and Elise Bosworth; and predeceased by the world’s most fabulous parents, Max and Rosella Hyatt.

While she requested no funeral, Lynda will live in our hearts and minds forever. If you are so moved, please make contributions in Lynda’s memory to the charity of your choice.
