Laura "Laurie" Brazman Obituary (1958 - 2025)

Laura Gail Jensen Brazman November 21, 1958 - February 26, 2025 Laura Gail Jensen Brazman was born November 21, 1958 in San Diego, CA. She joined her parents, Dan and Jan Jensen and her sister, Ellen. She was so proud of her middle name which honored her beloved Aunt Gail. In 1960, the Jensen family moved to Greenville, IL. Laurie attended Inglis School, then a middle school which met in a church, and then the Bond County Community Unit #2 High School. She graduated from Greenville College in 1980 with a degree in Elementary Education. She married David Roselius in 1980 and moved to St. Paul, MN. Together they had two children, Benjamin Karsten Roselius and Mychal Nicole Roselius. Laurie had a home day care for many years from which came an abundance of lasting, lifetime relationships and friendships – including the one with Todd which came about because he brought his (now their) son, Eddie, to her day care. She married Todd Brazman in 1997. They have lived in St. Paul all these years. They have worked together, laughed together, traveled together, done endless house projects together, made and fixed many mistakes together and finally walked this difficult road together. After the home day care years, Laurie worked in St. Paul Public Schools as an administrator and then as a reading specialist paraprofessional before retirement. She loved children, loved teaching them to read, loved taking care of them. She was a member of University Baptist Church where she faithfully played in the bell choir and sang in the choir. Some of her favorite memories were her European and Latin American trips with church musicians. She was also an avid glass artist, learning to make beautiful stained-glass articles. Her next project, which she was unable to accomplish but the dream of which helped sustain her, was glass blowing. She was enamored with all things glass and crystal. Laurie loved music, hymns, bells, singing, lifelong learning, philosophical thinking, and helping other people, especially children, access the joy of living. She is fondly remembered by and survived by her husband, Todd, her children, Eddie Brazman (Brittany), Ben Roselius (Sophia), Mychal Roselius Sherman (Brooks), her grandchildren, Marcus Roselius, Ella Roselius, Louis Brazman, Braydon Sherman, Brooklyn Sherman, Lukis Brazman, and Lyllian Brazman. She is also survived by her parents, Dan and Jan Jensen of Greenville, IL, her sister, Ellen Jensen Kershaw (David), and her brother, Darrell Jensen (Judi) and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.
