Joyce Farr Kenny

Joyce Farr Kenny died on May 19, 2023, in St Louis Park following a short illness. She was preceded in death by parents, John Farr and Mary Jane Howard Farr; and brothers, Jef and Jerry Farr.
She is survived by her wife, Susan Wood; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ron Grimes; grandchildren, Lydia Becker, Autumn (Jeremy) Chandler, Elijah Grimes, and Adeline (Andrew) Grimes. She was an honored member of the Clan of Sturdy Girls. Joyce was born on October 23, 1946, in Corpus Christi, TX. She spent her early years in the back seat of a smoky Studebaker while her father served in the US Naval Air Service.  She obtained her RN degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and joined the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant. She served as an RN between 1967-1969 at Walter Reed Medical Center in
Washington, DC and in Vietnam. Her career in medicine was long and varied, starting with the early days in the NICU, moving to RN education, then becoming a senior executive in several managed care organizations. She was awarded a traineeship in public health and obtained a Master of Public Health
Administration degree. The last part of her career was spent in the reinsurance industry.
