A sweet gift in the lives of his family, passed away Oct. 30, 2009. He enjoyed his life to its fullest. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dr. Jack Oppenheimer and Yehuda Frankel. He is survived by his mother, Alexandra “Sandy” Oppenheimer; his father Larry Oppenheimer; brother, Ben Oppenheimer; grandmothers, Ann Oppenheimer and Anna Frankel; cousins, Zoe, Erika, Josh, Alison, Mackenzie, Zac; many aunts and uncles; and his care attendant, Sue Wood. Joel loved attending Mount Zion Temple and Jefferson School and Ms. Benson’s class with Steve Biondo. Funeral services MONDAY, 11:00AM. MOUNT ZION TEMPLE, 1300 Summit Ave., St. Paul. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Halo-Soma.org, a non-profit group that teaches people with autism or to the Shir Tzion Choir at Mount Zion Temple.
