Jill Lazarus Swiler

Age 87 of Lilydale, passed away on February 2, 2019. Jill loved good food, good books, her husband, her children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed people, parties, art, politics and stimulating conversations. She taught her children to “love your neighbor as yourself.” She worked with husband Dick and brother-in-law, Barry at Rivkins store, the family business in Hayward, WI for more than 30 years. She played a mean hand of bridge, taught cooking classes and had a wicked sense of humor that Dick was happy to indulge. Jill and Dick retired to Las Vegas, NV where she joined Brandeis University National Women’s Committee and served as a national vice president. She and Dick moved to St. Paul in 2005 to be near their wonderful grandchildren. Jill was preceded in death by parents, Leonard & Jean Lazarus; and sister-in-law, Jan Swiler. Survived by husband of 64 years, Richard; children, Leah (Bill Blaser), Julie, Noah (Kim), and Rebecca Swiler; grandchildren, Jack, Zoe and Bess; brothers, Tony and Barry; brother-in-law Barry Swiler and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial service 12 PM TUESDAY February 5th at MOUNT ZION TEMPLE, 1300 Summit Ave., St. Paul. Memorials preferred to The Brandeis Fund.
