Jacob "Jake" Jurisz Obituary (2010)

Jacob “Jake” Jurisz, age 65 of the Villages FL formerly of St. Louis Park, passed away suddenly February 13, 2010 at his residence. Born in Poland Jake was a retired insurance salesman moving to The Villages three years ago. He was a member of Congregation Beth Sholom, and served his country in Viet Nam with the U.S. Air Force, and was also a longtime, active member at B’nai Emet Synagogue of St Louis Park. Jacob had a very social personality and will be remembered fondly by his family and many friends as an avid golfer, a wonderful cook, and ready volunteer who was never afraid to get his hands dirty to get the job done. Survived by loving wife of 38 years Susan; daughter Rachel (Bruce) Jurisz-Singh; brother Louis (Shirley), sisters Blanche (Meir) Amar, Sylvia (Mike) Lotz; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends, and a grandchild on the way. Preceded in death by parents Rubin and Helen. Funeral service Tuesday in Leesburg, FL. SHIVA, Wed., Thurs., Sat., and Sun. at 506 Drillane Road, Hopkins, Minnesota, 55305, services at 7pm. As a good friend said, “A day without Jake is like a day without sunshine.”
