Hubert "Sonny" Maiden Obituary (1925

Hubert Maiden, We are sadden to announce the loss of Hubert “Sonny” Maiden, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother on October 13th 2013, at the age of 88. Bert was born in Mpls. to Sarah & Mack Maiden. He attended North High and graduated from St. Paul Central and then attended the Univ. of MN, but left school to enlist in the army in 1943. He was in the army specialized training program, signal corp. and military intelligence. After discharge at war’s end, he moved to CA. to attend U.C.L.A. and the U.S.C. law school graduating in 1951, having served on the board of the law review, and being recognized with the order of the coif. In later years he was admitted to practice law in front of the supreme court. Bert retired in 1987 due t suffering for more than 30 yrs from a serious spinal injury from an automobile accident. Bert lectured at the learning and retirement preprogram at the College of Palm Desert. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Joan Anderson Maiden, sister Radee Maiden Marks, niece Elaine and sister-in-law Marilyn Maiden. Bert is survived by his loving wife Marilyn; twin sons Bruce and Brent; daughter Jan; brother Jay Maiden; and brother-in-law Merton Marks. Bert was a strong role model for his children and his younger brother Jay Maiden. Donations in his memory may be made to your favorite charity
