Hillel I. Raskas Obituary (1950 - 2012)

Hillel I. Raskas, age 61 of Gaithersburg, MD, formerly of St. Paul, passed away May 29th . Preceded in death by parents Rabbi Bernard & Laeh Raskas. Survived by wife, Anna Ellenbogen; children, Shoshana, Ezra and Gabriel Raskas; sister & brother-in-law, Eve & Steve Kafitz; brother David Raskas and Milo Mortenson; nephews and niece, Zach, and Micah & Lizzie Kafitz. Hillel graduated from Highland Park High School, attended Macalester College and graduated from Clark University, MA with a BA degree in psychology , he received a Masters and PHD from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a Masters from the University of Judaism, Los Angeles, CA. Hillel was longtime employee at the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation of Montgomery County, Maryland where he was recently honored as Divisional Employee of the Year. Funeral service 12 NOON, THURSDAY at the TEMPLE OF AARON SYNAGOGUE, 616 So. Mississippi River Blvd., St. Paul. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the donor’s favorite charity.
