Harold Bershow

–

St. Louis Park, Minnesota

One of the true heroes of the greatest generation, Harold passed away at age 96 on March 2, 2019. Born and raised in North Minneapolis, he went on to fight for his country with two Pacific Theater beachhead landings during WWII. He earned two Bronze Stars for bravery and two Purple Hearts. After the war he rose to Vice President of Miles Homes, which due to his marketing and sales acumen grew from a local garage builder to a national juggernaut in the precut housing industry. He was truly loved by all who knew him and would always light up a room with his personality, humor and intellect. Preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Aileen; mother, Jenny; and sisters, Sylvia Klayman & Eleanor Novotney. Survived by son, Barry (Hallie) Bershow; daughter, Nancy (Frank) Saaranen; grandchildren Sarah (Jeremy), Spencer (Chris), Laura (Darin), Robby (Andrea); and eight great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Marcia Monger, his incredibly devoted caregiver for her loving attention in his last few years. Memorial service 11:00 AM WEDNESDAY, March 6th at KNOLLWOOD PLACE APTS., 3630 Phillips Parkway, St. Louis Park. Memorials preferred to donors’ favorite charity. SHIVA 7:00 PM at Knollwood Place Apts.
