Fredric Lee Nathanson Obituary (1932 - 2019)

Fredric Lee Nathanson, age 87, passed away in Atlanta, GA, on October 24, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. Fred was born in Minneapolis on January 31, 1932, the son of Moe Z. and Clarice R. (Wolfenson) Nathanson. A devoted family man, he is survived by wife, Suzanne "Suzi" Shapiro Nathanson; children, Amy Nathanson Heaslip (Stephen), Cari Nathanson, and Lisa Windsor (Michael); brother, Marshall S. "Mickey" Nathanson; sister-in-law, Berta Shapiro; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He served as a US Army Corporal in the intelligence unit stationed in Alaska during the Korean War, received his BS in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota, and was a seafood trader and broker in the food industry for most of his professional life. He is remembered for his eternal optimism, sense of humor, passionate storytelling, dedication to community, as well as his athleticism and grace.
