David I. Chesler Obituary (1934 - 2020)

David I. Chesler David passed away on September 24, 2020, two months before his 86th birthday. He was born in Minneapolis in 1934. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; his stepson, Jim; stepdaughter, Cindy; and adored granddaughter, Claire; and his latest dog, Becky. Also survived by his brother, Harve (Leanne); sister, Pam (Miles); and Cindy’s three sisters, and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all miss his kindness, humor, and friendship. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Nate Chesler. David was graduated from North High School, and went on to Annapolis, serving in the U.S. Navy on the SS Kearsarge. He returned home to attend the University of Minnesota where he majored in Accounting and became a prominent CPA in the Twin Cities. He worked most of his 47-year career at the Lurie Besikof accounting firm. David’s passions were his family, his long-term buddies, and golf. David was a kind, (and handsome) gentle man.
