Craig Geller

–

Mendota Heights, Minnesota

Craig Geller, age 69, of Mendota Heights, passed away on September 4, 2024, due to complications from a stroke. Craig grew up in Saint Paul’s Highland Park, where he started his first business in 1976. His entrepreneurial spirit led to the founding of Geller Automotive, followed by many successful years owning Diamond Cab. As an avid dirt track race car owner, Craig was known for the orange #17 dirt Late Model and spent his weekends competing at the local tracks with friends (Fridays at Menomonie and Saturdays at Cedar Lake Speedway). He looked forward to the start of the NASCAR race season and spent many years attending the Daytona 500. Craig enjoyed bowling and cribbage and was a member of the local bowling leagues for many years, where he enjoyed spending time with fellow players over friendly, competitive matches. After retiring, Craig enjoyed spending time traveling with his beloved wife. Together, they embarked on many adventures with a particular fondness for cruising through the Caribbean, visiting various islands, and creating cherished memories on their journeys at sea. Thursday nights were special for Craig, as he and his daughter shared a weekly ‘date night’. They enjoyed dinner together and bowled side by side in their bowling league, creating cherished memories that they both held dear. Craig is survived by his wife of 41 years, Char; daughter, Traci; and sister, Linda (Lenny) Axelrod. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Olivia (Sis) Geller. Craig was a dedicated family man and a proud husband, father, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him for his love of fun, his competitive spirit on the track and the lanes, and for the warmth he brought to every gathering. Graveside funeral service 10:30 am MONDAY, September 9th at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN. The family will be hosting a reception at Axel's in Mendota following the service. Flowers and memorial contributions to N.C. Little Memorial Hospice are welcome.
