Cecile Claudette Javinsky Obituary (1936 - 2024)

The world lost one of her bright shining stars this week. Cecile Claudette Javinsky, 87, of St. Louis Park, MN, died on Thursday, 4/4/2024. She is survived by her children, Edward Javinsky (Susan), Martin Javinsky (Lynn), Elizabeth Javinsky (Mark), & Deborah Javinsky-Wenzek (Michael); sister, Joanne Sullivan; four grandchildren, Sarah, Rosie, Ben, Nessa; and her beloved dog, Mia. She was preceded in death by parents, Edward & Betty Husney; and brother, Elliott Husney. Cecile was born in Minneapolis on 8/30/36 and lived there for the first 20 years of her life. In 1956, she married Melvyn Javinsky, a naval officer, and they lived all over the country before returning to Minneapolis to raise their family. Cecile was beautiful inside and out. Intelligent & creative, fun loving & strong, she adored her children and grandchildren with all her heart and soul. She loved music, theatre, movies, flowers, gardening, art, books, and politics. Cecile was ahead of her time: Open-minded and liberal, she was passionate about personal growth and social justice. She was area director for the American Jewish Committee, and one of her proudest achievements was to create the Black Jewish Dialogue, which helped bring Jews and African Americans together. In her later years, Cecile worked as a telemarketer and worked part time right up until the end. Cecile was an extrovert who loved people and was beloved by many.
