Cecelia "CeCe" Sobol Rubin Obituary (1938 - 2019)

Cecelia (CeCe) Sobol Rubin, of Minneapolis, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, in her home surrounded by loving family and friends, Wednesday, August 7, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah and Harry Sobol, and brothers, Bill and Howard, and longtime companion Al Cohen. Survived by her loving children, Beth, Andrea (Barry) Sorensen, and Sarah (Mark), grandchildren, Alex and Paige, sister MaryAnn Rosen, many adored nieces and nephews and devoted furbaby, LuCe. CeCe fought a courageous journey with Dementia. Born in Denver, CO on November 24th, 1938, graduating from East High and attending the University of Colorado Boulder for Legal Studies. Once she found her way to Minneapolis in her early years, and married Mark, she loved teaching at the local Jewish preschool. She loved working with children. CeCe was also an avid sports enthusiast. She loved to play golf and tennis with girlfriends and cheer on her Vikings. As a world traveler throughout her lifetime, she left a piece of her heart in London and the Royals. Always known for her big, amazing smile and infectious laugh, she lit up the room. In her career, she was passionate about advocating for women needing legal support. Our CeCe lived life to the fullest, Joie de Vivre. She will be deeply missed and remembered with love. Funeral services will be held at ADATH YESHURUN CEMETERY CHAPEL, 5605 France Ave So, Edina, FRIDAY (TODAY), AUGUST 9, at 2:00 PM. Memorials preferred to Open Circle of Hopkins.
