Boris "Sonny" Zukerman Obituary (1923 - 2010)

Zukerman, Boris “Sonny” Died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by parents, Aldy and Berul Zukerman; wife, Carrol; son-in-law, Marc Polikoff; and granddaughter, Amy Harer. He is survived by his wife, Miriam; children, Nancy Polikoff, Ilene (Jay) Goldberg, and stepdaughter, Sherry Cook; grandchildren, Teri (Todd) Brown, Chad (Jamie) Goldberg, Adam Goldberg, Lawrence Harer, Rebecca (Sam) Dorman, Andrew (Amy) Cook; great-grandchildren, Sam and Abby Harer, Jacob and Lindsey Brown, Aya Dorman, Sasha Cook; sisters, Luby Eig and Nettie Moss; brother-in-law, Lester Hackner; and nieces, Maxine (Herb) Meyers and Susan (Marty) Letowsky. Sonny was very proud to have served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A special thanks to his caregivers including his wonderful nurses and doctors at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and at the Sholom Home West. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Jewish War Veterans, the Sholom Foundation, or donor’s favorite charity.
