Beatrice "Bea" Gold Obituary (1911 - 2013)

Beatrice "Bea" Gold, age 101 of St. Louis Park, passed away June 30, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Louis and Fanny Mersky; brother, Sam (Pollyann) Mersky; husbands, Rueben Schwartz, Abe Kozlen, Sam Gold and beloved friend, Joe Lapp. Survived by daughter, Janet Lubritz; son, Donald Schwartz and sister, Myra Soboloff; step-children, Jack (Bette) Kozlen, Ruth (Raleigh Goldberg and Walter Silesky, deceased), Barbara (Lee) Resnick and Robert and Mona Kozlen (Deceased); grandchildren, Danny (Angela) Lubritz and Gregg (Deborah) Lubritz; step-grandchildren, Stacy (Gary) Kibort, Matthew Goldberg, Andrea (Brian) Polsky, Michael (Bari) Resnick, Amy (Joel) Barnum, Rebecca Kozlen, Wayne (Karen) Kozlen, Keith (Diana, deceased) Kozlen, Vicki Swank and 27 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Joan Soboloff (Paul Meeker), Robert Soboloff (Dori Singer), Robert Mersky (Mary), Larry Mersky and Joan Campbell; cousin Lionel (Myra, deceased) Greenberg; and special friends, Bill, Linda and Sarah Jane Lapp and Barbara and Bruce Holzman. Deeply rooted in the Jewish community, Bea was a lifetime member of Beth El Synagogue and Women’s League; Kenesseth Israel Sisterhood, Sholom and Hadassah, volunteer at Mount Sinai and North Memorial Hospitals, former administrative secretary to Rabbi David Aronson and Rabbi Kassel Abelson at Beth El Synagogoue, and secretary at the Sabes Jewish Community Center. She was the essence of loving-kindness and will be remembered for her wit, wisdom and gracious warmth. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She was loved by many, including the nuns of Sisters Care. Bea’s memory will be cherished by her loving relatives, extended families and friends. The family gratefully thanks Dr. Alan Divine and the staff at Sholom Home West for their faithful support and devoted care. Graveside service WEDNESDAY, 12:30PM at MINNEAPOLIS JEWISH CEMETERY, 701/2 & Penn Ave. S., Richfield.
