Audrey "Rusty" Cohen Obituary (1932 - 2023)

Audrey "Rusty" Cohen, 91, died peacefully at her home in Edina, MN on November 7, 2023. Cause of death was Alzheimer's, which tried hard but utterly failed to dampen her spirits or her radiance. She is survived by her husband, Burt; children, Michael, Jeffrey and Susan; grandsons, Alex and Nick; great-grandchildren, Max and Lyla; numerous loving family members; many wonderful, compassionate caregivers to whom we're so grateful; and a huge number of heartbroken people who are feeling blessed because they had Rusty in their lives. A woman of integrity, of caring, of grace, of verve. Thoughtfulness, creativity, energy and softness. A woman of character and taste and beauty. Selflessness. Generous and giving. A woman who, with occasional help from her husband, raised three children to be proud of, exuberance, who loved life and music and ice cream and even green leafy vegetables. A woman always first in line to volunteer, prejudice-free, who loved people and loved dogs. Kindness, always, with a gorgeous, utterly contagious smile. A woman who truly lived every moment of her life, reveling in the joys; weeping at the heartaches; never losing her balance or perspective. Yes, this was Rusty. And oh, what a woman she was.
