Arnold Manuel Bellis Obituary (1922 - 2014)

Arnold Manual Bellis, age 91 of St. Paul, passed on April 30, 2014. Beloved Father, outstanding Attorney at Law, Fraternal Brother to many. Graduate of Central High, St. Paul; and the University of Minnesota Law School 1948. Partner with the law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ceresi. Served his country honorably in WWII as an Army Medic in the European Theater 1944 – 1946. Member, Past Commander, and Adjutant of the Vasatka-Goers VFW Post 6690 Mendota. Appointed VFW National Aide de Camp, and member of the VFW National Legal Committee. Member of the American Legion, the VFW Military Order of the Cooties Honor Degree, the Disabled American Veterans, and past Regional Commander of the Jewish War Veterans of the USA. Member of the St. Paul Braden Masonic Lodge 168, and of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Arnold loved golf, fishing, hunting, music, astronomy, world history, and being of service to his fellow man. The eldest son of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe, Arnold served his country in England and Belgium then returned to his hometown of St. Paul where he lived all his life. Preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Regina (nee Zimbler) Bellis, brother Daniel Bellis, wife Joyce May Bellis (nee Morris) and wife Fern Juanita Bellis (nee Peterson). Survived by his beloved brother Milton (Carole Anne) Bellis; six children: Morris (Teresa) Bellis, Jeffrey (Karen) Bellis, Keith Bellis, Valerie Bellis, Leslie (William) Vaughn, Brian (Melinda) Bellis; five grand-children: Jason (Deena) Bellis of Chicago, Jordan (Caitlin) Bellis, Andrew Bellis, Alex Bellis and Stephanie Bellis; great-granddaughter Natalie Joyce Bellis. Also survived by his beloved cousins Dr. Carroll (Mildred) Bellis, Saranette (Seymour) Frank and Viola (Jack) Dorfman. Funeral services 1:00 p.m. FRIDAY, May 2, 2014, at HODROFF-EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 671 So. Snelling Ave. St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials greatly preferred to donor's favorite charity.
