Anna Rees, 50, passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2026 in the Fairview-Southdale ER in Edina, MN.

Born October 24, 1975 to Keith and Barbara Von Seggern, she grew up in the Milwaukee area before attending college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she met her future husband Gene Rees. From there they moved to the Minneapolis area where they made their home, married and later started a family.

A dedicated professional, Anna worked in healthcare at North Memorial as Director of Data and Analytics. She found immense fulfillment in her career, combining her passion for data with a genuine desire to help others. She enjoyed collaborating with doctors and nurses to solve complex problems and improve patient care. She loved music, especially going to concerts. She was also an avid art enthusiast and collected many unique pieces that reflected her creative spirit.

Above all, Anna was a devoted and loving mother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family—whether she was cheering at her boys' Ultimate Frisbee games, embarking on family road trips, watching hours of anime together, or simply talking and laughing with those she loved most.

Anna is survived by her husband Gene; her children Owen and Eliot; her sister Lorna (Mike) Hall and niece Caitlyn Caputo; her brother John (Lynsey) Von Seggern, nieces and nephew, Clara, Alice and Simon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Barbara Von Seggern, and her parents-in-law, Griff and Lois Rees.

A memorial service to celebrate Anna's life will be held at a later date.
