Albert Osman, age 98 of Minneapolis passed away May 1. He is survived by daughter Phyllis Osman and step sons Steve Litt (Louise), Jeff Litt (Pam) and Larry Litt, brother Mike Osman and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces. Growing up during the depression, Al spent his early years in the Cleveland Jewish Boys Home which left an indelible impression on his character. He served his country during World War II arriving at Normandy shortly after the initial wave. "Big" Al was the long time owner of the Stockholm Bar in Downtown Minneapolis, a business which fit his gregarious personality perfectly. He was a voracious reader of current news, and travel was his passion. Over time he traveled the World with camera and movie camera in hand, always ending his trips in Jamaica. This earned him the nickname "The Jamaica Kid". Al loved the water-whether it was his boat on Lake Minnetonka, the ocean or the pool at the Sheraton Ritz Hotel (where he was known for doing back flips), it gave him a sense of tranquility. The family would like to thank the wonderful and loving staff at Jones Harrison Residence for taking great care of Albert in his final years.
