Allan Benjamin Kirschner Obituary (1948

Age 71 of Lake City, Florida, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 7, 2019, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Allan was born in Montreal, Canada while his parents, Henry and Helen (Kramer) Kirschner of Bronx, New York were on vacation. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School and graduated from Bedford Academy (Bronx, New York) in 1967. Allan Graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. He received a Master of Science Degree in 1992 from Mankato State University. Allan retired from the Minnesota Department of Corrections (MCF-Stillwater) in 1998 when he moved to Florida. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, playing the electric guitar, spending time admiring mother nature in his back yard, eating good food and relaxing in his “man-cave”. Additionally, his love of travel started with stowing away on the SS Rotterdam in 1964 for a trip to the Netherlands as a teenager, to which he returned a paying adult. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Helen Kirschner; grandparents; aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife and partner of 31 years, Julie Eveslage (Lake City, FL); son, Gene Kirschner (Stillwater, MN); as well as extended family and friends. Graveside service 1:00 PM SUNDAY, June 23rd at MOUNT ZION CEMETERY, 1670 Payne Avenue, St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Haven Hospice, 6037 W. US Highway 90, Lake City, Florida 32055. The family would like to thank Holly Sheppard (CNA) of the Gainesville Comfort Keepers for her assistance, compassion and support during Allan’s illness, as well the Staff at Haven Hospice, especially his nurse Leah and his CNA Misty. Additionally, Allan’s wife Julie would like to personally thank all of the Florida Department of Corrections Staff for their assistance and support during this difficult time.
