Dr. Paul Michel Obituary (1926 - 2022)

Age 96, of Plymouth, passed away on September 6, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by parents, Dr. Iancu and Henrieta Michel. Survived by beloved wife of 64 years, Dr. Juliana Michel; son, Dr. Eduard (Betsy) Michel; and grandchildren, Sam and Carly. Paul was born on April 6, 1926, in Bucharest, Romania where he attended medical school and practiced internal medicine and infectious diseases. In 1980, he emigrated with his family to the United States, and he was very proud when he became an American citizen. He successfully passed the medical equivalency exams and continued to practice medicine until his retirement in 1996. His close-knit family was his pride and joy. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his son and grandchildren. He was a history buff and had an incredible memory being able to recall events and names from decades ago. He and Juliana traveled to 7 continents and dozens of countries – and he enjoyed experiencing the sights, people, cuisine, and customs of the places he visited. He was a regular at the gym, working out regularly until he was 91 years old. Graveside service 12:00 PM on THURSDAY, September 8th at MINNEAPOLIS JEWISH CEMETERY, 7032 Penn Ave. S., Richfield. Memorials preferred to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum or the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas.
